New page

==Introduction==
The [http://graphics.veniceprojectcenter.org/~venice40 Venice4.0 website] uses the Wordpress CMS to manage all content and templates for the project. The current template employs a premium wordpress theme as well as some robust slideshow plugins.

===Wordpress===
To login to the administration panel, type wp-admin after the URL of the site and hit enter (Or click [http://graphics.veniceprojectcenter.org/~venice40/wp-admin here]). The admin panel requires a username and password to gain access. This password can be obtained from Professor Carrera and is the same password used on the server for the venice40 account. Once you are into the admin panel you will see the standard Wordpress administration options.

===display Theme===
display is a premium Wordpress theme that is highly configurable. In the wp-admin panel you will find at the bottom left a menu dedicated to the theme options. Further documentation can be found in the help folder under the main theme directory (/home/venice40/public_html/wp-content/themes/display/), as well as photoshop files containing default images that can be modified for use in the theme.

===Slideshow===
The slideshow plugin used on this theme is [http://www.progressivered.com/cu3er/ CU3ER]. You can read more about it on the website but the configuration of it on our website works through a config file on the server. This config file is located at the following server directory - /home/venice40/public_html/wp-content/themes/display/slideshow/. You must use the FTP to access and edit this file. XML files are used to pass parameters to flash files - the slider uses flash to display the images. A great program to use to edit this file is Notepad++ it is free and will allow you to easily understand how to configure or change slides.

====Example slide====
Below is the code for an example slide:
[Image:http://img697.imageshack.us/img697/9026/codey.png]

The url field contains the location of the image which you must upload to the server to a known location. The image size for the slideshow is 940x420. The link field (containing # above) will link to the page URL listed there when the description is clicked. The heading and paragraph are self-explanatory and make up the description bubble.
