Utility Lines Running under the Ponte della Costituzione

Public utilities in Venice consist of electricity, public lighting, gas, wireless cellular service, cable lines and video surveillance. Due to Venice’s status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, unsightly utility lines or pipes cannot mar the appearance of the city. For this reason, all utilities in the city travel under the Pavement and cross between the various islands by traveling inside or under Bridges. Each utility is accessible through individual pavement stones that are visible on almost every Street in the city.
