Tag Club in Mestre

Tag Night Club.

There are number of night clubs and bars in Mestre. One in particular is an "underground" nightclub known as Tag. Tag is known especially for its late after hours. There is a cover charge of 10 Euros which gains you access to the club for a year. Drinks are 5 Euros a piece, however make sure you hang on to the drink card you are given as you enter; if you do not have it at the end of the night as you leave, you pay- how much is unsure. The card is punched anytime you purchase a drink and as you leave and hand in the card, you pay for the amount you drank. Smoking is also fine throughout the club.

When heading to Tag be prepared for a long night. The night begins with a live local band, who usually plays until 3AM, not the best but not the worst. From about 3AM the locals go crazy over 50's rock. The bigger of a fool you make of yourself, the more fun you will have! About 4AM until 10-11AM (Saturday into Sunday), house music plays. Not your typical house music from America and definitely no mainstream pop or hip-hop; just a beat.

Tag Club

Next door is Club 19, which is strictly Latino/Italian music only. Cover chargers are 10 Euros for ladies and 15 Euros for guys- sorry guys!

Getting there

San Lucia.

Keep in mind trains from Venice stop around 12AM. Every train leaving San Lucia will stop at Mestre, so if you miss the last shuttle hop on any train leaving. Make sure you sit in 2nd class since that’s all the shuttle ticket allows you. Once you arrive in Mestre Station head towards the exit nearest the ticket office. A hotel/restaurant will be right across the street. Make a left and head straight for at most a ¼ of a mile. You will come to a slight fork in the road. Take the left which will cross over the railroad tracks. Tag and Club 19 will be on your left hand side, right across from a car dealer ship. The signs are not big so you have to look closely. Again, be prepared for a long night, the first train back to San Lucia is a little after 5AM.
