This reason is clearly explained in the words of the Synod of Patriarch Egidio (1296 comandasi where the titrated dwell in their houses, and sleep at night, \he propter locorum distantiam, ecclesiae debitis clericorum Ministeriis defraudentur.\ Every titrated then had to keep in good order the house that venivagli delivered to residence, which would solevasi dinotare glue sentence of having to keep \in height,\ phrase used in our day, saying he was \in Conzo and in full.\ In process of time, however, the titrated emancipated themselves sometimes from the obligation to live in the houses above, whereupon we find in 1510 ordered by the patriarch Contarini that \houses made of the goods of the church Sieno only inhabited and considered by those to whom they belong, and that use that are destined. What if those to which you do not live there, the other ministers suitable and canonice ordered the dress. If you will be leased, the pros go under renovation, convenient to the church, and are distributed among the ministers quotidie inservientes. \Yea sometimes happened that gave titrated their homes with a rent to families vicious, and even prostitutes, abuse who sought to eradicate the Patriarch Giovanni Trevisan in his first synod held in the year 1564.
