Mission

The mission of Venetian Heritage is to safeguard the Venetian cultural heritage found in its architecture, music, and art pieces around the city. The organization sponsors multiple exhibitions, lectures and conference in order to accomplish their mission and to encourage a world-wide interest in Venice’s needs.

Activities

Until now, Venetian Heritage has accomplished important projects in Venice such as the restoration on the façade of the Church of the Gesuiti (18th century Baroque architecture), the Monument to Jacopo Forscarini in the Church of the Carmini (work of early 17th century), polychromed and gilded wooden altars in the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta (built in the 16th century) and the Monument of Admiral Vittore Cappello by Niccolò di Giovanni Fiorentino on the portal of the Church of Sant’Elena (work of the 15th century and example of Venetian early Renaissance.)

The organization has also done several restoration programs outside of Venice but in lands that once were part of the Venetian domain. Venetian Heritage Inc. has also done several projects in relation to modern art, including the finance of several restorations of paintings of the 1900s that belong to the Fondazione La Biennale di Venezia. A recent partnership between the two organizations has been very successful and promising for both. This collaboration includes restorations of paintings of the 20th century such as Galileo Chini and other artists of the century belonging to the collection of ASAC (Archivio Storico delle Arti Contemporanee della Biennale di Venezia).
