Internet Square
The map to the right shows the Ca'Corte apartments and the internet square with free WiFi. The name of the square is Campo Santa Maria Nova. On the corner closest to the canal there is a cappuccino and gelato place that is pretty good. The center of the square has red benches, the set in the middle have the best internet connection. This spot always had internet, but beware, many people will stare or even take pictures of you on the computer. This was the best place to use Skype because the Vodafone internet cards could not always handle it. The only downside to using the internet here is the weather, it did not always cooperate. This year in Venice the third and fourth floors in Ca'Corte found WiFi but it was sporadic. We assumed that it came from one of the apartments across the street. The internet from across the street was a lot faster than the Vodafone card but if too many people were on at once, it would kick everyone off. It usually cut out every half an hour, but would come back within five minutes. It was very frustrating at time, but using the WiFi from across the street was a lot faster and did use time on the Vodafone card. This was also a better alternative than walking to the Campo Santa Maria Nova, especially if it was raining. So best options for internet in Ca'Corte are:
