Burano is one of the eight Major Lagoon Islands in the Venetian Lagoon. It is located in the far north of the lagoon near Mazzorbo and Torcello. The island is famous for its ancient lace making industry which is displayed in the Museo del Merletto. Burano is also famous for its brightly colored house than line the canals. It is one of the most densly populated islands outside of the main city center of Venice.
