Torcello

Torcello is one of the eight Major Lagoon Islands in the Venetian Lagoon. It is located in the far north of the lagoon near Burano and Mazzorbo. The original city center of Venice was settled on this island. The Venetians later took apart many buildings on the island brick by brick and transported them by boat to the new city. The island is home to many medieval artifacts as well as the throne of Attila the Hun.

ACTV Lines

Torcello can be accessed by public transportation. It has one stop: Torcello, which can be reached on line 9 from Burano.
