The Chiesa di S. Marcilliano, or San Marziale as it is locally known, was founded in the year 1133 and is a Catholic church.

History

San Marziale was founded in the 9th century, and has undergone two rebuilds since this time. The 14th century reconstruction was inspired by a shepherd, Rustico in Rimini, who arrived on the island with the help of angels and not a boat. The present day church was completed in the early 18th century and has a very plain exterior. The interior of San Marziale is known for its many statues and intricate carvings.
