The Chiesa di S. Vitale, or S. Vidal as it is locally known, was founded in the year 1084 and is a Catholic church.
History
This church was founded by Doge Vitale Falier, who the church was then named for, in the 11th century. The church was rebuilt in the 12th century following a fire, and then again in the 17th century. The church fell into disrepair and was deconsecrated before becoming an exhibition hall. Restoration work at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries has maintained the Palladian-style façade. The church is now used to host concerts.
