Introduction English
The church of Santa Chiara was founded on the island of the same name to the 1236 will of John Badoer.�Following a fire in the sixteenth century it was completely rebuilt and decorated with numerous works of seventeenth-century artists, now, however, missing.�The channel reaches the Grand Canal in the terminal and is crossed by the Liberty Bridge, connecting Venice to the mainland.

La chiesa di Santa Chiara fu fondata sopra l'omonima isola verso il 1236 per volere di Giovanni Badoer. In seguito a un incendio avvenuto nel XVI secolo fu completamente ricostruita e ornata da numerose opere d'artisti secenteschi, ora tuttavia disperse. Il canale raggiunge il Canal Grande nella parte terminale ed � attraversato dal ponte della Libert�, collegamento tra Venezia e la terraferma.
