Introduction English
Joseph Tassini in his book dedicated to the toponymy town, talking Gorne, informs us that it is the broad eaves marble - of which were equipped with the high walls of the Arsenal - throwing the rainwater coming from the nearby construction sites covered in the underlying channel.�Even today these Gorne perform the service primitive.�On the foundation of the same name, you can admire the old houses that the Republic of Venice granted to certain employees of the Arsenal, which the chiefs master 'saws' and above 'tornidori'.

Giuseppe Tassini nel suo volume dedicato alla toponomastica cittadina, parlando delle gorne, ci informa che si tratta delle ampie grondaie in marmo - di cui erano munite le alte mura dell'Arsenale - che gettavano l'acqua pluviale proveniente dai coperti dei vicini cantieri nel sottostante canale. Ancor oggi queste gorne svolgono il primitivo servizio. Sulla fondamenta omonima si possono ammirare le vecchie case che la Repubblica di Venezia concedeva ad alcuni dipendenti dell'Arsenale, quali i capi mastri 'alle seghe' e i soprastanti 'tornidori'.
